Registration and payment for NHMC can be completed online with our 2-step process
First, please provide your contact info and other fun facts below.  Then choose your registration and lodging options.
Make your payment in Step 2.

A note about Credit Cards and PayPal
Checks preferred.  Credit Card and PayPal payments cost NHMC a significant fee, money that would otherwise go into programming.  As a result there will be a one-time $30 charge per camper for paying by Credit Card or PayPal.  Whether pay your tuition in full, your deposit, your balance, or late fee, you need only pay this fee once.  The $30 charge is due with the first use of Credit Card or PayPal.  Fee does not apply for Scholarship Fund Donations.

To register online but pay by mail:
Simply proceed with Step 1 of the registration process below and click on the button at the bottom of the page.  Then, all you need to do is write a check payable to Northeast Heritage Music Camp in the amount that represents your preferences from the list of products in Step 2 and mail it to:

WORK SCHOLARSHIPS:
If you would like to help us out at camp, or if coming to camp presents a financial challenge for you, talk to us about a work scholarship. We want you to be able to join us! For more information click HERE.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
You can opt to stay in one of the cozy but rustic cabins (no electricity), in a comfortable room in the Ecolodge (first come, first served), or pitch your own tent in the field (this is the way to get a private room). There are also a number of off-site accommodations in the area easily researched online.  If you choose to stay off-site, register as a commuter.  Check out our housing options HERE.

COVID-19:
We are pleased to announce that NHMC 2022 was COVID-free.  Out of an abundance of caution we will continue to proceed with the utmost care in planning another in-person gathering, following the best available guidance from the CDC and the State of Vermont. Proof of full vaccination will be REQUIRED. We will continue to follow the situation throughout the winter and spring and make adjustments to our programming and safety measures as necessary. In the unlikely event that we cannot run camp, you will receive a refund.

A NOTE ABOUT ABILITY LEVELS:
Beginner: Working on basics of rhythm, tone, intonation, instrument specific technique, repertoire, and playing by ear. Looking for simple tunes in workshops, taught slowly, with help on technique primarily, and style secondarily. Expecting slow tempos* in jams, with easy and common tunes and more guidance.

Lower Intermediate: Can play at a reasonable speed and learn by ear. Working on technique and on going beyond the basic tune. Looking for simpler tunes in workshops, taught at a moderate pace, with help on both technique and style. Expecting slower jam tempos* with well-known tunes and more guidance.

Upper Intermediate: Can play significant repertoire up to speed from memory, comfortable learning by ear, working on technique and on going beyond the basic tune. Looking for more challenging intermediate tunes in workshops, taught more quickly, with less focus on technique and more on style. Expecting faster jam tempos*, a broader range of tunes, and less guidance.

Advanced: Knows a larger repertoire, up to speed, in one or more styles and plays with nuance from memory within these styles, learns quickly by ear, has generally solid technique, and a fair amount of experience playing with others. Looking for a relatively fast teaching pace and challenging tunes in workshops, with a focus on ornaments, variations, and nuances of style. Expecting fast jam tempos*, challenging wide-ranging tunes, and little guidance.

*A note on tempo: “fast” or “up to speed” means dance speed (110-120 bpm) or faster; a typical 16 bar reel or jig should take 35-40 seconds at most. Moderate jams will be a little slower and wider ranging, more like 45-55 seconds to play a tune once through.
